01  Categories of vacuum cleaner

There are many types of vacuum cleaners, according to structural classification, which can be divided into the following categories:

Vertical vacuum cleaner: It is mostly in the shape of a barrel or a square with upper and lower parts. The upper part is equipped with a motor and the lower part is a dust box.

Horizontal vacuum cleaner: this is rectangular or car-shaped with front and rear parts, the front part is the dust box and the rear part is the motor part.

Portable vacuum cleaners: portable vacuum cleaners typically have a power of 250W or less. Portable vacuum cleaners are generally available in four forms:

▪ Shoulder: Small in size, used on the shoulders when used, with low power;

▪ Rod type: the shape is like a rod, the upper end is the handle, the lower end is the suction nozzle and the power is small;

▪ Portable type: with smaller size, it can be used directly in the hand;

▪ Miniature type: with less power, smaller size, it is used for cleaning clothes and instruments, etc.

According to the drive motor, the vacuum cleaner can be divided into AC vacuum cleaner, DC vacuum cleaner and AC/DC vacuum cleaner.

02 Principle of vacuum cleaner

The vacuum cleaner motor is the heart of the vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner’s motor drives the fan impeller to rotate with at a high speed so that the air is discharged speedily. At the same time, Vacuuming air from the front of the fan continuously replenishes the air in the fan, causing an instantaneous vacuum environment inside the vacuum cleaner and forming a negative pressure difference with the external atmospheric pressure. Due to the pressure difference, the generated high-speed airflow is used to suck the dusty air and garbage from the suction port. then discharge the clean air after filtering by the filter. The larger the negative pressure difference is, the larger the air volume is, and the bigger the dust collecting capacity is. Generally, the internal airflow speed is very high, and the rotation is 20,000 rpm to 40,000 rpm per minute, and small garbage such as dust and scorpion can be sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Simply speaking, the motor in the vacuum cleaner is rotated at a high speed, and a flow of air is generated in the main body to cause a vacuum, and the inhalation of the supplementary airflow is used to suck in the garbage.
